Nintendo announces a handheld Nintendo Switch Lite for $199

Image
Nintendo  has unveiled a new Nintendo Switch called the Nintendo Switch Lite. As the name suggests, this console is a bit cheaper than the original Nintendo Switch, but it comes with a few drawbacks. The biggest difference between the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Light is that you can’t connect the Switch Light to a TV. There’s no dock or port designed for TV connection. That’s not the only compromise you’ll have to make, as the Joy-Con controllers aren’t detachable . You can’t put your Switch on a table and keep the controllers in your hands for instance. Of course, you can buy Joy-Con controllers or the more traditional Nintendo Switch Pro controller separately. You’ll have to find a way to charge your Joy-Con controllers without the Switch — the Charging Grip could do the job for instance. But other than that, you’ll be able to play the exact same games that you’ve been playing on the Switch. As long as games support handheld mode, they will work on t

Apple said to be working on a foldable 5G iPad

Image
A 5G iPad is said to be in the development by Apple but there are no concrete timelines to when it will launch. Apple may be planning to join Huawei and Samsung in launching a foldable smart device. A foldable iPad that will support 5G connectivity is in the works as Apple is highly anticipated to enter the 5G market. The foldable iPad will have a MacBook-sized screen, which will allow folding from the centre to convert into a phablet, according to a report by Economic Daily News, citing a London-based IHS Markit’s analyst Jeff Lin. The size is not mentioned as of now. However, if the previous iPad models are anything to go by, the display size on the purported device does not come as a surprise. But there are concerns over the device’s usability, considering Apple has been marketing the iPad as a substitute for PC. The report begs the question of whether an iPad that could unfold to a 13-inch or 15-inch device would be “compelling”. Samsung & Huawei are the teachers Th

IBM Patents Smartwatch That Can Transform into a Fully Functional Tablet

Image
While Samsung is struggling to  fix its first-ever foldable  smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, to relaunch it for the masses, IBM is going ham with the whole foldables concept. The well-known tech giant seems to be jumping into foldables with high hopes and a passion that shows in their latest concep t. IBM has apparently patented a smartwatch that features a number of foldable screens, which can all unfold and turn the tiny gizmo on your wrist into a full-fledged phone and tablet PC. Sounds ludicrous, right? Well, Lets Go Digital was the first to spot this patent, which was granted in June earlier this year. Titled ‘ Variable display size for an electronic display device,’ this IBM patent focuses on smart wristwatches with a massive and almost bezel-less display – rectangular in shape and resemblant of a miniature smartphone screen . Now comes all the crazy and absurd part of this patent. The smartwatch screen has seven displays of a similar shape and size stored under the

NASA Discovers - Saturn’s mysterious atmosphere boasts 'diamonds' raining down on the planet

Image
NASA discovered Saturn’s mysterious atmosphere boasts diamonds raining down on the planet, it was revealed during a new documentary. Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second-largest in the Solar System, only behind Jupiter.   It is a gas giant with an average radius about nine times that of Earth and it’s most famous feature is its prominent ring system made up of ice and dust. However, while many scientists have spent years trying to understand how and when these features emerged, they have stumbled across an even more bizarre discovery inside its atmosphere.   Like Jupiter, Saturn is a massive ball made mostly of hydrogen and helium, but it contains much more sulphur than its fellow sister planet.   Brian Cox revealed during his new BBC series “The Planets” how NASA’s Cassini probe made a shock discovery when taking a closer look at its weather in 2013.   He said last month: “By studying the cloud tops of Saturn and its great storm systems, we can no

Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II announced

Image
Canon's PowerShot G5 X found a lot of love among enthusiasts wanting a DSLR-like shooting experience inside a far more compact form, but the company has now updated the model with a second-generation follow-up – and it's a fair bit different . The PowerShot G5 X Mark II is the first Canon camera of its kind to have a pop-up EVF inside a compact body . This is released via a catch to its side, and needs to be pulled back before being used, a setup that apes the likes of the Sony RX100 Mark III, RX100 Mark IV and RX100 Mark V models. The viewfinder itself is a 0.39-inch type EVF with a 2.36 million-dot resolution and an option to boost its refresh rate to a 120fps with the Smoothness Priority mode. It also has a 20mm eye point and promises no blackout, and it's joined by a 3-inch, 1.04 million-dot touchscreen that can be adjusted to face the front. The sensor, processing engine and lens have all changed too. The sensor is a 20.1MP stacked CMOS design, while t

GOOGLE IS REPORTEDLY TESTING A PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON FOR THE CHROME BROWSER TOOLBAR

Image
Google Chrome is working on a universal Play/Pause button on the browser's toolbar which will let users pause media in any tab, without needing to find the specific tab that's playing. ZDNet reports that the feature named Global Media Controls (GMC) is enabled on Chrome's testing platform, Chrome Canary. The button is located to the right of the URL bar , where it shows a popup that slides down from the button itself, allowing users to stop or resume currently playing media. Testing shows the button works with audio and video content and across multiple Chrome windows. As it is a universal button users won't have to hunt down which tab or window has media playing, in order to pause it. However, the current version is buggy and often crashes the browser when users attempt to pause a video. ZDNet says the GMC button is planned for Chrome's desktop versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux . There is no indication if it will be added to Chrome OS. It ad

Mystery - NASA probe discovered unexplainable trait about Uranus

Image
NASA discovered the planet Uranus is surrounded by “mysterious” rings just like fellow gas giant Saturn , a new documentary revealed. The Voyager programme was first launched by NASA in 1977 to take advantage of a favourable alignment of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Although the original mission was to study only the planetary systems of Jupiter and Saturn , Voyager 2 continued on to Uranus and Neptune. Data and photographs collected by Voyager's cameras, magnetometers and other instruments, revealed unknown details about each of the four giant planets and their moons. Brian Cox revealed during his new BBC show “ The Planets ” the groundbreaking revelations. Dr Cox said last month:   “A lmost nine years after leaving Earth, Voyager approached an entirely new class of planet. “J ust like Jupiter and Saturn, the planet’s upper atmosphere is composed mostly of swirling hydrogen and helium gas and hidden beneath lies an exotic, icy mix of methane, ammo

Forget foldable phones, Sony is working on a rollable smartphone

Image
It’s not just Samsung and Huawei who are getting into the foldable phone bandwagon. Almost everyone is doing it, including OPPO and Xiaomi and even Microsoft. The ones you don’t expect to be making one are those who are struggling to even stay afloat. And yet, surprisingly enough, Sony is rumored to be doing exactly that. Even better, it will have a rollable “Nautilus Design” when others can barely do simple foldable screens. Sony is definitely the last company you’d expect to be working on a foldable phone. It’s not in the red but its mobile business has seen better days. It specializes in LCD screens which may be a poor choice for flexible screens. Finally, Sony’s advertised goals for its smartphones are to be entertainment devices which is probably not a good fit for such foldable devices either. And yet that’s what Sony is rumored to be doing, according to Max J., a.k.a. @Samsung_News_ . The Twitter user is more popular for his Samsung leaks so it’s a tad surprising

Apple mocks Google’s privacy issues with a new Billboard

Image
When CES 2019 was taking place in Las Vegas , Apple posted a banner near the entrance of the conference saying “ What happens on your iPhone, stays on your iPhone ”. It was a tongue-in-cheek response to the privacy issues companies like Google and Amazon were having, and it appears Cupertino is back at it. This time a billboard saying “ We’re in the business of staying out of yours ” is seen right next to Sidewalk Labs’ new HQ in Toronto. The company is a subsidiary of Alphabet, just like Google. Sidewalk Labs is a company aiming to rethink urban planning . It has published a three-volume development plan for the Eastern waterfront of Toronto that is mostly an unusuable area of rocks and scrubs. It has its own business model and does not share urban data or user data with its sister company, which makes it even more baffling why is Apple trying to throw shade over Sidewalk Labs. Then again, Apple is probably doing a good thing keeping the conversation about user pr

Google Pixel 4 Could Have a 16-Megapixel Telephoto Lens as Second Rear Camera, Front Infrared Camera: Reports

Image
Google's official teaser of its upcoming Pixel 4 series of phones has confirmed that it will, for the first time, have two rear-facing cameras . But the big question on everyone's mind has been, what kind of a lens can we expect the second sensor to have? Code from the Google Camera app in the leaked Android Q beta 5 seems to suggest that the second camera on the Pixel 4 will be a telephoto lens , for optical zoom. Not only that, the code further reveals that it might also have an infrared (IR) front facing camera, most likely for face unlock. The Mountain View giant is scheduled to release six public betas of its upcoming version of Android, simply called Android Q for now. Android Q beta 5 is yet to be released but some users have received it early, which includes the new Google Camera app v6.3 that also brought a new location for Night Sight. XDA Developers promptly got down to checking the code of the new camera APK for clues about the Pixel 4, which revealed some int
